Allow me first to thank His Highness Ruler of Sharjah and the honorable Crown Prince for attending and honoring our festival for the diamond anniversary of the Sharjah International Airport, which would take us back in a journey of memories go to 75 years, from which we re-call the landing of the first plane on the land of Sharjah emirate and launching of the first airway spot in the Middle East region then converting it to a modern international airport to make of Sharjah a pioneer in initiation innovation and excellence.
Through the parade of development and progress adopted by the government of Sharjah upon your wise orientations, your Highness, and endless support for the aviation sector and air freight in addition to the continuous follow up of your Crown Prince. After years of hard work and construction we stand this day behind you on the same place where we started 75 years ago to witness the fruitful consequences of your vision, guidance and the efforts of all our associates and those working with us in the aviation industry during the previous years, also celebrate these achievements that have been accomplished, both looking forward towards future horizons towards which we are heading in confident steps.
While we are celebrating today, we have the right to feel proud of the achievements we have accomplished during the last few years until the International Sharjah Airport has gained a very high rank on all local, regional and international levels.
Through all the development stages witnessed by the Sharjah International Airport and since its inception in 1932 as an airway station for commercial flights until 1977 when the airport premises was inaugurated and all through the expansion and development enterprises that are in progress until today. The aviation sector and air freight have contributed in an active, positive way in supporting the local economy which confirms the correct vision and insight of the decision makers. We are enjoying today the favors and boons of the economical boom to which the Sharjah International Airport has greatly contributed in it within the increase in the commercial exchange between the emirate and the rest of other countries, increase in the number of passengers and tourists which reflected a positive result in tourism. It also has its effect on industrial sector in the presence of services and facilities in air freight that helped in transporting these goods and merchandise to different regional and international markets.
With the huge development the aviation sector witnesses internationally, Sharjah International Airport had to comply with the requirements and needs utilized in airline companies, passengers and shipping and travel agencies according to the international regulations and recommendations approved by the ICAO and IATA as well as all other issues regarding air flights safety and security for passengers, airport premises, airplanes and preserving environment and other resolutions agreed upon by the members of the countries to be executed which would make the Sharjah International Airport one of the most important international depot in the UAE, the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East.
Actually the real quality transfer of the airport services was established upon your high zealous wish to launch the "Airarabia" airway company which introduced a new concept to economical flights in the region. The company achieved continuous successes that raised the mode of action at the airport to high levels. You also gave your directives to execute the expansion project for the Sharjah International Airport to comply with the constant growth in the number of passengers using the airport, thus the airport shifted to a new future era also harmonizes with your future vision and expectations.
The expansion project of the airport includes new gates and flyovers in addition to the departure and arrivals lobbies, as well as developing 19 landing spaces for passengers' flights, air freight and private aeroplanes of the VIP, to raise the number up to 65 landing depot. The cost of the project which is about to be completed is about five hundred million Dirhams.

We promise you to continue the hard work and exert every effort to upgrade the services we offer to the passengers, airlines and establishments working at the airport with all that complies with the fast development in flying industry, under your wise and well-advised vision which shall be the cresset that lights our way to excellence, pioneering and perfection.
Finally, allow me to thank all the Local and Federal departments, government authorities, the international companies and establishments working side by side across Sharjah Int. Airport and all the airway companies and our associates in air freight industry, all our guests who are sharing us this festival, specially all those who worked sincerely, left a clear fingerprint and put a brick in this glorious edifice which we pray to Allah to keep it flourishing and gain more glory.
