Normal passenger and
cargo operations were reported by Sharjah
International Airport with aircraft
movements, continuing according to regular
schedules.
“We
have not experienced any cancellation
or decrease in scheduled flights to
date from any airline,”
an airport authority spokesman confirmed
on Sunday.
He emphasized it is
essential at this stage to adopt contingency
plans and steps to ensure the complicated
military situation in Iraq does not
disturb the safe and secure atmosphere
airlines, agents and airport users are
used to in Sharjah, and the UAE in general.
“In this regard,
the Sharjah Department of Civil Aviation
confirms the airport is constantly coordinating
and cooperating with the UAE General

and aviation bodies,” he added.
“Sharjah Civil
Aviation and the Airport Authority are
also assuring extra safe and sufficient
parking slots for all additional flights
expected to come through Sharjah.”
The spokesman stressed
service levels will continue to be maintained
at the highest levels, with the installed
infrastructure and the latest ground
handling equipment - together with maximum
support from the various state departments,
including customs, immigration and allied
